Get Started with Bull City Fit Durham
Step 1. Get a referral from your child's doctor.
To become eligible for membership at Bull City Fit Durham, your child or teen must be referred by their doctor.
Participants are strongly encouraged to join the Duke Children's Healthy Lifestyles Program.
Bull City Fit Durham is open to Duke Children's Healthy Lifestyles program participants and their family members. The Healthy Lifestyles program is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary childhood obesity treatment clinic located in Durham, NC. To see if your child or patient qualifies for treatment, family members and providers can contact Program Coordinator, Kimberly Yancy, at 919-620-5356. Providers can also fax a referral form to 919-471-6930, ATTN: Kimberly Yancey.
Step 2. Attend a New Participant Orientation Session.
These sessions are held approximately 3-4 times per month and will be your introduction to the program. During orientation, your family will become familiar with the goals and mission of Bull City Fit Durham, meet our staff, and learn what activities we are offering this season. You will also have the opportunity to meet other families and join in with whatever activity is happening that day!
Orientations are held at both Edison Johnson Recreation Center and WD Hill Recreation Center. Please download the flyer and check out the dates below for more information!
