Week 21: Moving Through the Decades

The ways people like to engage in physical activity and exercise has changed over the years, but one things remains the same: moving is FUN! We are traveling through time for inspiration this week, starting with the 80s!

1980’s

Iconic brightly colored workout attire might be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the 80s. Scrunchies, leg warmers, and leotards dominated the 80s along with aerobic workouts. VCR tape legends lead from behind the screen as working out at home became more popular.

1990’s

The 90’s brought popular to step workout classes. Step aerobics involve stepping to the beat using a short box. Energetic music is played throughout the class to keep you motivated and moving!

2000’s

Originally founded in 1998, Zumba became popular in the early 2000s. This upbeat form of exercise uses dance to get you up and moving!
