Week 9: Running Club

I hope everyone had an awesome week! I was so glad to see some of you on our Facebook Livestreams Tuesday and Wednesday. Make sure to comment in so I can greet you!

For this week’s challenge, we are focusing on a BCF classic: running club! Every Thursday, Bull City Fit is started with running club. We run, walk, or jog the trail that wraps around Edison Johnson Recreation Center. Although we can’t be together at BCF, there are many ways to participate in your very own running club at home.

1. Make a Loop

With your parent or guardian, make a loop around your neighborhood. Print or screenshot the tracking sheet below to record your times. See if you can beat your personal best!

2. Wall Sprints

Stand facing a wall and place your hands straight ahead. Lean into the wall, using your hands to brace yourself up. Then, run in place making sure you are leaning forward! Try to run for 30 seconds, then take a break, and repeat!

3. Make Your Own Track

If you have some space outside, use cones (or whatever you have on hand—water bottles work great!) to make a track. We make our own track at BCF when we have running club at the field!

Weekly Challenge

Bull City Fit participants can earn their BCF Buck by sending in a picture video of you and your family participating in your own running club! Please send pictures and videos by email to bullcityfit@gmail.com or to our Instagram (@bullcityfit). You may be chosen to be featured on our social media account!
